About Us
Periodontal Associates proudly serves patients at both its Aurora and Centennial locations, offering the same trusted standard of care across every office. We draw patients from the Denver metro area as well as numerous mountain towns.
Periodontal Associates
Periodontal Associates was founded in 1974 by Dr. Ken Versman in Aurora, Colorado. Over the decades, the practice became one of the region’s most respected centers for periodontal and implant care.
Dr. Doug Heller joined the Aurora office in 1991, followed by Dr. Eric Beckman in 2012, continuing the founders’ commitment to excellence and patient-centered care. In 2018, Dr. Daniel Thousand joined the team and helped expand the practice by acquiring a well respected periodontal practice of Dr. Paul Glick in Littleton, CO. We later relocated the Littleton office to its present location in a larger, state-of-the-art space in Centennial, CO.

Douglas A. Heller, DMD
A Denver native, Dr. Heller has practiced periodontics in Aurora since 1991 and has taught at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine for more than 25 years. Recognized by 5280 Magazine and The Denver Post for his leadership and excellence, he is deeply committed to education, integrity, and exceptional patient care.

Dr. Beckman has provided periodontal and implant care in Aurora since 2012. A Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, he combines advanced training with a compassionate, collaborative approach that helps patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.
