Having a need to explore an implant can feel daunting and overwhelming, however, I felt at ease with the staff at Periodontal Associates Centennial! The Receptionist (Lisa) was extremely friendly from the get! The Surgical Assistant, Travis, was kind and reassuring during my scans. Dr. Thousand was extremely knowledgeable, approachable and kind! He explained the upcoming procedure extremely well, answered my questions and listened to my concerns. Everyone was very professional and courteous. I had some gum grafts by Dr. Heller on Wednesday and feel like I am progressing well. Scheduled for follow up & suture removal in about 2 1/2 weeks. I was understandably nervous about the procedure I have coming up, but Dr. Heller immediately put me at ease. He was warm, charming, personable, and took the time to explain everything without making the situation seem frightening or overwhelming. I especially appreciated that he didn’t make me feel like I should be terrified of the upcoming procedure! I left feeling much more confident and reassured about what to expect. Nobody wants to be in a dentist chair, but Dr. Heller's positive energy and approachable personality makes the whole experience not so bad. He does a great job explaining dental issues and discussing treatment paths. It is obvious he enjoys his profession and genuinely cares about patient care over profit. I miss Dr. Glick since his retirement from the same office, but Dr. Heller is an excellent periodontist as well. When I first met Dr. Heller, I had gingivitis. My regular dentist referred me to whom he referred to as a “specialist”. My mouth was in such bad shape. I thought I was going to end up with dentures. My gums were purple. They would bleed when I brushed. It would get loose. Dr. Heller said that my teeth were savable. Honestly, I didn’t believe him. I wish I had before and after pictures. I hope they do at Periodontal Associates. Because there’s been a complete transformation of my oral health. My gums used to be purple they’re pink now my gums used to bleed every time I brush my teeth before and now they don’t. I am also a lot happier because I’m not in pain. Also, just a couple days ago I noticed my bank account received $888 for Periodontal rewards. This amount was added to my account by Dr. Heller and everybody at Periodontal Associates. All of the people that work with him are very pleasant and I am very grateful that I met these kind of people. If you ever read this, Dr. Heller, I just wanna say thanks a lot man, you’re awesome, trustworthy, and good at what you do. I couldn’t ask for a better dentist! I was referred to Dr. Doug Heller by my general dentist for a crown lengthening (which was something I had never heard of even though I have a mouth full of crown work AND used to be a dental assistant back in the dark ages). I was pleased with the fact that I really had no pain during the surgery and that the doctor continually kept me informed during the process while he was working on the tooth. The whole staff from front desk to operative, was wonderful. I have been there now for 4 visits, and each time I was seen right at or slightly before my set appointment time! I did not experience any issues with the healing process whatsoever. If you need the services of a periodontist, I highly recommend Dr. Heller at Periodontal Associates, as well as the Hygienist Michelle! My experience with their office for my MARPE treatment has been absolutely amazing from start to finish. Everyone has been incredibly supportive, kind, and compassionate, and I truly felt like they went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and doing well throughout the process. They consistently checked in on me, answered my questions, and made me feel supported every step of the way. The office is also incredibly easy to work with. Communication has been excellent, and I always felt like my concerns were heard and taken seriously. That level of care and attention makes such a difference when you’re going through a treatment process that can feel a little intimidating. Dr. Thousand and his team are wonderful providers who clearly care about their patients and take pride in providing excellent, compassionate care. My experience there was not only pleasant but reassuring. His staff is excellent and made me feel calm and always comfortable. He is very thorough and meticulous - something you really want in a periodontal surgeon! His surgery assistants are also really great - very conscientious and caring. The only thing I would say is that they should check periodically to make sure their after hours call line is working.
