Education and Training
Dr. Heller earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and his Certificate in Periodontology from the University of Pennsylvania.
A native of Denver, Dr. Heller has practiced periodontics in the Aurora community since 1991. For more than 30 years, he has also taught periodontics and dental implant surgery at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, sharing his expertise with both graduate residents and dental students.
Professional Experience and Leadership
Dr. Heller is recognized for his commitment to clinical excellence and his long history of professional leadership. He currently serves as Chairman of the Peer Review Committee for the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society. His leadership roles include serving as President of the North American Society of Periodontists, President of the Rocky Mountain Periodontal Society, and President of the Denver Academy of Clinical Dentistry.
He has been recognized by 5280 Magazine as one of Denver’s top periodontists each year since the award began. He also received The Denver Post Strength in Health Leadership Award for Dental Specialists, the only periodontist to receive this honor.
In addition to private practice, Dr. Heller has lectured nationally, participated in professional study clubs, and co-hosted the radio show Tooth Talk.
